Typhoon Yagi has severely impacted many regions, with even residents of Hanoi, despite having sturdy homes, facing significant challenges in their daily lives. Meanwhile, the people in other northern mountainous provinces are enduring even harsher conditions, as floods, landslides, and flash floods have ravaged homes and crops, plunging them into a state of severe hardship. Thousands of households in these provinces are now at risk of food and clean water shortages, compounded by the ongoing threat of extreme weather. Even more alarmingly, several areas have reported human casualties, as floods have swept away homes and caused devastating landslides, leaving communities devastated by both property loss and tragic loss of life.
Understanding the urgency of the situation, and in the spirit of solidarity and compassion, the employees of Hanoi Re have swiftly contributed to a relief fund to assist those affected. The Hanoi Re Happiness Foundation quickly coordinated with the most heavily impacted regions, including Lào Cai, Yên Bái, Phú Thọ, Bắc Kạn, and Tuyên Quang, to implement timely and effective support measures.
On September 12, 2024, Hanoi Re provided VND 100 million to the localities hardest hit by Typhoon Yagi. This amount was directly allocated to areas that are still struggling to cope with the long-lasting effects of flooding. The support aims to help the affected communities restore their lives after suffering substantial losses, both in terms of human lives and property.
