Within the framework of the Hanoi Re International Conference (HRIC 2025), held in Da Lat from May 14–16, 2025, representatives of both Vietnamese and international insurance/reinsurance companies came together to undertake a charitable initiative in support of victims affected by Typhoon Yagi in Vietnam and the recent earthquake in Myanmar. Through voluntary donations and a small auction of hand-embroidered artworks, a total of VND 226,588,000 was raised.
On May 21, representatives of Hanoi Re Ms. Le Thi Thuy, Deputy CEO of Hanoi Re, along with Ms. Le Thuan, Head of Reinsurance Department at Samsung Vina Insurance, on behalf of the HRIC guest, directly presented a donation of USD 5,000 to the Embassy of Myanmar in Hanoi. Minister of Embassy of Myanmar in Hanoi – Mr. Soe Ko Ko wishes to express its deepest appreciation to the Insurance/Reinsurance Community for their compassion and donation of USD 5,000 respectively to support relief and recovery efforts for the people of Myanmar in the aftermaths of the devastating earthquake on 28 March 2025.
The remaining VND 90,000,000 will be delivered in person to families affected by Typhoon Yagi in Quang Ninh on May 24, 2025. While modest in scale, this initiative reflects the shared sense of social responsibility within the insurance profession — a profession rooted in the value of protection and care. We sincerely thank all partners, delegates, and colleagues who contributed to this meaningful effort.
