The CFA Institute Research Challenge is a prestigious global competition for university students, designed to test participants’ skills in equity analysis, investment report writing, and professional presentation. Guided by CFA Charterholders, students, with each team consisting of 3 to 5 members, analyze a publicly listed company and compete through national, regional, and global rounds. The 2025 global competition is expected to attract approximately 7,000 students from 1,100 universities across nearly 100 countries.
In Vietnam, the CFA Institute Research Challenge was first held in 2011. This year marks its 15th season, featuring 28 university teams from across the country. Each team will analyze and present investment recommendations (Buy/Hold/Sell) for PVI Holdings (HNX: PVI) to a panel of investment professionals. The top two national teams will advance to the Southeast Asia sub-regional round, with the winning team moving on to the Asia-Pacific regional round, and potentially to the global finals, scheduled to take place in Hong Kong in May 2026.
